Angkas CEO George Royeca recently addressed Angkas rider partners, saying that 100% of fares on National Heroes Day will go straight to riders who restore commuter freedom. “Ang Angkas malakas dahil sa inyo,” Angkas CEO George Royeca remarked.

As a show of thanks and to commemorate its rider partners, on National Heroes Day, August 29, the motorcycle taxi service will not take commissions on any bookings, whether for trips or deliveries, as a show of thanks and honor to its rider partners. As a consequence, the Angkas riders will receive 100% of the profits from services like trips and deliveries for that day.

“We celebrate our national heroes on August 29 for the bikers that fought hard to regulate and professionalize the motorcycle taxi industry,” points out Royeca. “Because of them, we now enjoy freedom from traffic and congestion that has attacked our quality of life. For years, we have been crippled by congestion and it is our modern day heroes that have given us freedom of mobility to travel safely and quickly, unburdened by traffic. Angkas riders have enabled Filipino commuters to be more productive, better rested, happier, more fulfilled—and that is real freedom.”

Angkas rider partners have demonstrated their heroism to and for the Filipino people in a variety of ways over the years. By demonstrating that Filipino motorcycle riders can be disciplined, courteous, and safe, Angkas is making it easier than ever for the Philippines’ 18 million motorcycle riders to make a respectable, above-minimum-wage livelihood on a motorcycle. Angkas riders are even now demolishing the long-perpetuated, negative “kamote rider” stigma by retaining a safety record of 99.997% after literally millions of reservations.

Angkas shifted its focus during the pandemic to delivering medication and necessary commodities to the population in lockdown and providing free rides to medical practitioners and other frontliners in regions where it operates. (PLACEHOLDER QUOTE) “So, if a motorbike has saved you from traffic and congestion, schedule a trip with Angkas on National Heroes Day, Monday, August 29th, where motorcyclists will receive a 100% discount on rates.”
