Version 1: Get ready for the biggest energy trade event in the country! PhilEnergy Expo 2024 is back and it’s bringing together energy leaders, brands, organizations, and businesses from both local and international scenes.

From March 20 to 22, 2024, head over to the 2nd level of SMX Convention Center in Pasay City for three days of energy-packed excitement.

This year’s theme, ‘Shaping the Philippines’ Energy Sector for Sustainable Future,’ highlights the importance of clean energy and aims to propel the country towards a sustainable and net-zero future.

“PhilEnergy is evolving to encompass a broader range of related sectors,” said Rungphech ‘Rose’ Chitanuwat, Country General Manager of Informa Markets in the Philippines, the organizer of PhilEnergy Expo. “That is why it was rebranded in 2023 and this year is coming as a stand-alone event in its fourth edition.”

PhilEnergy, previously known as RE EE Philippines, is broadening its energy profile to include renewable energy (RE), energy efficiency (EE), electric and power (E&P), electric vehicles (EV), and energy storage (ES). This expansion of coverage is in line with the expanding energy industry and the government’s heightened initiatives to develop secure, sustainable, and resilient energy plans.

Sustainable and clean energy

A notable transition in energy policies towards renewables has been gaining traction. The Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance, Inc. (PE2), a key partner of PhilEnergy, projects that investments in energy efficiency initiatives in the Philippines will hit ₱12 trillion by 2040. Concurrently, the national government aims to boost the renewable energy portion in the local power generation mix to 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2040.

On a global scale, the International Energy Agency (IEA) recently announced that countries worldwide have increased their average renewable energy capacity to 50% in 2023 compared to 2022. This momentum is anticipated to pick up speed over the next five years until it reaches its peak.

Conferences and seminars

Aside from showcasing innovative technologies and products that offer solutions to energy challenges, PhilEnergy Expo 2024 is also hosting insightful discussions on current issues in the energy sector and related industries.

PE2 is organizing the ‘Energy Efficiency Day 2024’ conference on March 20, bringing together prominent business leaders and esteemed ambassadors from the UK, Sweden, and Denmark to share their strategies in meeting the goal of doubling energy efficiency by 2030.

On March 21, PhilEnergy Expo will hold a seminar on energy audits for commercial buildings, as well as discussions on electric vehicles, smart grid technologies, and future energy systems. March 22 will feature a PCAB Licensing Workshop (paid seminar) and talks on promoting clean energy, project management strategies, and clean energy practices, among other topics.
